Happy Easter

I had a great Easter with the family and hope you guys did too! Yesterday we drove to Midlothian to see Jared's grandma and have lunch with his family to celebrate his birthday. Then today we went to church, my mom's house in Keller, and then Jared's sister's house in Allen. So we drove around the world but it was so fun.

Today at church, I was worshiping God and had a heavy, tired heart. Just from the situations around me, I feel drained and overwhelmed sometimes!! But when I was singing, I just really thought about Jesus dying on the cross for us and how hard that must have been. He could have just stopped and said wait, never mind, this is TOO much, but He didn't. If being beaten, spit on, ridiculed, tortured, and then dying on the cross, rising again, wasn't too much for him, if that wasn't too big for him, then I am pretty sure what I am going through is not too big for HIM! I am so thankful that He died and rose again so that I could be FREE! So think about that, no matter what you are going through today, it's not too big for HIM!! Give it to him!

Birthday Idea's for Jared

I need some idea's! So all of my 3 reader's or so can give me some idea's! MmmK!!! Jared's birthday is next week, the day before Easter and I decided to make it special, I am going to have an entire week of special things for him. Starting on Sunday, and I will do something special every day until Saturday, his birthday. So far the only idea's I have are to make him a nice dinner one night, give him a massage one day, write down 30 things I love about him and give that to him, (he is turning 30)and...um...well I think that's all I got. So I need help. Then on Friday night we are going to go out and do something fun, I am also trying to think of a special restaurant or something cool we could do that night. Of course, I need ideas that will work with my budget as well! ; ) So thanks in advance if you can think of anything!

Psalm 51:10-17

I read this today and it really spoke to me, so I wanted to share it. Maybe it will speak to someone else as well!

Psalm 51:10-17

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Then I will teach transgressors your ways,
and sinners will turn back to you.
Save me from bloodguilt, O God,
the God who saves me,
and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.
O Lord, open my lips,
and my mouth will declare your praise.
You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it;
you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart,
O God, you will not despise.

Any suggestion's?

UPDATE
Just want to add that my bottom line is this is NOT normal! I have never heard a kid cough and gasp for air like this, it is horrible! But I am taking them to the dr at 11:30, and we are seeing someone else this time so maybe they will have a new perspective!

I am desperate for any suggestion's whatsoever concerning my girls! I am sure most of you remember a couple of months ago when they got bronchitis and they missed 5 days of school and I had to take them to the dr. 3 times and nothing really worked! Well, it is starting all over!! They don't have fever, runny nose or anything, EXCEPT a cough that is HORRIBLE because they make this gasping sound mixed in with there cough, like they are gasping for air, there eyes start to tear up, and sometimes they even throw up mucus because it is SO bad. Here is my dilemma: I took them to the dr 3 times last time, and it didn't even help. We tried breathing treatments, cough medicine, steroids, and even antibiotics. It didn't help but finally went away on its own about 3 1/2-4 weeks. (it was forever, really) So on one hand it sounds so horrible I think I should take them to the dr, but on the other hand nothing the dr. did really seemed to help. (and there is also the fact that it is 90 dollars each to take them and it doesn't really help us by going towards our deductible since we only have insurance for 45 more days!) So I just don't know what to do? Should I let it go and just not worry so much and let it run its course? It is just so hard to hear, and I feel so so bad for them! The last time he mentioned something about if they kept doing this they could be asthmatic.??!! What? So if anyone has any advice or knows anyone that would have any advice let me know? If you think I am overreacting, I would probably say, come hear them cough and if you still think that I am, then Ok, I will just let it go and try not to worry so much about it! I know that when you are the mommy we can get emotional about things instead of just relaxing a little more. Thanks for listening!

Lovin' The Love Dare

If you don't have this book...GET IT! It's so good! It's a 40 day plan to strengthen your marriage and is based on the movie Fireproof. Each day is only about a page and a half and at the end it gives you a little challenge to complete which is kinda fun. I have already seen some major changes in myself and my marriage since starting this. I love it! Here is some highlights that I loved from the book (and I am ONLY on day 6)

*Love will inspire you to become a patient person.
*Anger almost never makes things better.
*Patience stops problems in its tracks.
*It is a choice to control your emotions rather than allowing your emotions to control you.
*Patience helps you give your spouse permission to be human.
*Love makes you kind, and kindness makes you likable, when you are kind, people want to be around you, they see you as being good to them and for them.
*Kindness graces a wife with the ability to serve her husband without worrying about her rights.
*Kindness thinks ahead, takes the first step, greets first, smiles first, serves first, and forgives first.
*Don't require the other person to get there act together before showing love.
*Love sacrifices your wants and wishes to make sure your spouses needs are met.
Love thinks before speaking, it filters words through a grid of truth and kindness.

Cowtown 5K

I ran the Cowtown 5K last weekend and had so much fun despite the cold, nasty weather! I am so motivated that now I want to run races more often. So...I am signing up for the Forth Worth Zoo Run on April 18th. Let me know if any of the thousand's of people who so obviously read this blog, want to do it with me!
