A day out with Thomas

Jared recently took Joey to A day out with Thomas at the Grapevine Vintage Railroads. Joey is OBSESSED with Thomas the Trains, so we new this was going to be HUGE for him to get to go to! He has almost all of the trains and pulls them all out several times a day and goes round and round on the coffee table with them. He knows all of their names, and even knows the names of the ones he doesn't have. When he wants to guilt me into getting him a new train, he will say "Mom, we gotta go to walmart, the trains are sad" and I say" why are the sad Joey" and he just says " They are sad, we gotta get them" It's pitiful and it usually works! : ) Here are some of the pictures from Joey's best day ever!!

What a month!

We have had some big changes around here! Jared is no longer working for Edward Jones. It is a long story but the bottom line is, it is a very good thing. He is unemployed right now but God is providing for us and we are TRULY learning to trust in him. Jared has made some DRASTIC changes in his life recently. These past few months he has really seeked God and he has become the Spiritual leader of our home. He is so desperate and hungry for God, I have never seen him like this. God is speaking to him and surrounding him with his presence and peace. We have lost some financial security (not that we really ever had any)but we have gained so so much more during this rough period. God is teaching us things, revealing things to us and we are amazed by what he is doing in our lives! We read Jeremiah 29:11 daily, and we know we are in God's hands, that is such a good feeling, to really be able to trust in Him, and know that we are not in control, but he is! Jared has a 2nd interview next week, and we are just praying that God open and closes doors according to his will and not our will! I will keep you posted!

Potty training is finally over!

I have been potty training Joey the last few months and I am so excited to finally say he is COMPLETELY potty trained. I just wanted to share this cute story about what he said the other day, but first let me just say that we have had somewhat of a hard time getting him to go in the potty. Unfourtanely our main problem has not been with #1 but #2. Ewwwww, I have thrown away many, many pairs of underwear! :) SO we tried everything, we tried rewards, we tried discipline, we took away his trains, everything, and I would tell him over and over, "You have to be a big boys, big boys go on the potty. Don't you want to be a big boy? You need to be a big boy like Jess, and Alex, and Tanner and all of your friends." Nothing seemed to work until I guess one day it just finally clicked. So...he hasn't had any accidents AT ALL for 3 weeks or so, yeah!!!! So yesterday he was going #2 on the potty, and I was in there with him and I said " Joey, I am so so proud of you, you are such a big boy" and he said "Yes, I am a big boy just like Jess!" I thought that was so sweet, he loves his cousin Jess! So I will have to thank Jess, because in a way, he helped potty train Joey!

Now only one more kid to go!!

Baby Jack's Birthday Parade!

Baby Jack turned one! I can't believe it's already been a year since his birth. We had a parade for him at my mom and dad's house last Sunday. The kid's decorated there bike's and rode up and down the long driveway, the weather turned out to be perfect for it! Jack had a great time, he love's being outside. Everything turned out perfect, well except that he burnt his finger on the birthday candle, that was sad. Poor baby!
